I would go with the light.

I like the darker one.

I have dark roller sheers in my kitchen, but the cabinets and walls are darker too.

I like the lighter ones, but I almost always prefer light shades.

I prefer the light one - it will keep it fresh.

I'm really attracted to the contrast that the dark blinds provide. I think it will break up the lightness of that dining nook and bring attention to the elements within the space, such as that interesting lighting fixture. But I like the idea of the Roman blinds in the dining area.

My suggestion is light which will look beautiful with the sheer panels.

I will assume the picture of the fireplace room is the living room and it connects with the kitchen/dining room picture...is that true? Another question, you state floor to ceiling sheers for the living room, do you mean over the entire window surface with nothing behind them, or panels off to the sides? If these rooms are adjacent as I assumed, I would have the same window treatments on both windows. Probably blinds, shutters, or woven wood Roman shades with side panels off the window sides. I would keep the window treatments to light to mid tone colors because the walls are quite light in shade. I would add some color punch with pillows and maybe bench cover as well as seat cushions in dining area. It's a great space.

Barbara, yes they are all part of an open concept space along the same wall:) I LOVE Roman shades in like a Schumacher Manor gate fabric type in charcoal… I decided against it bc I don't want to compete with pillows and I will use that fabric for little modern valances in the foyer and stairwell. I like the simple look of sheer roller blinds for the dining room. AND was thinking of doing sheer curtains in the living room, to separately define the spaces. I had a consult to look at the Hunter Douglas Alustra Shades, but their was so few light ones! Either too yellow or peachy-ughh! Thanks for your advice:)

I understand what you are trying to accomplish, but I would still treat them the same because it will look more cohesive. You are defining the spaces, but because they are so open to each other some things should tie them together such as the way your paint color does..it makes all the spaces seem larger, the same applies to these window treatments. In that same regard, I would definitelychoose the lighter color..it too will expand the space rather than chopping it into blocks. I would also, hang simple panels off the sides of each window...now these panels can be different, such as panels with a pattern that is either the same or coordinated with the chair seats in the dining area, and panels in the living room space coordinate with the colors/patterns in the that area. Think of it more as... would you have wooden blinds in natural wood color on one window and white shutters on the other..hopefully not.

I would recommend lighter if you want to bring the natural light into your house and keep it in a fresh and bright atmosphera
