I'm not understanding the dilemma you are envisioning. Gravity will make them all hang vertical. I would hang it lengthwise, same as table. Or your room would look lovely with beams added as in your inspiration pic.

Just noticed this. You could solve your dilemma by hanging a beam and attaching your light to that.

Wow, thats neat looking. I like it. I almost think it may look a lot better with the assortment of lighting draped over like shown in the photo versus the one from PB that has a base mount. Any wild idea where you find lighting like shown in that photo? Second question is I wonder how a beam would look hanging like that given we dont have the ceiling beams to tie it all together like in the photo. We do have a single beam running the length of the living/kitchen, its like a walnut color, but its smooth and not very rustic, whereas for this application I would think that hanging beam would need to look rustic and not a finished smooth piece of lumber, but certainly open to thoughts.

Also, about the hanging delimma question. The issue I am referring to is because the light cables are mounted side by side, when you tilt the hanging bracket the cables on the side that ends up higher will also shift to be closer-to (almost right above) the other side of cables causing them to be too closer and/or touch when hanging straight down. The problem gets worse as the pitch of the roof increases. Hope that makes sense.

Here is something similar that might look better in your space considering you have no other beams. I think you could get these kind of lights bulbs at hardware stores if you want to try a DIY project. You could try as wiring etc, maybe check out web or you tube. Hang fixture length wise the same direction as table is in your pic, and the chains will hit the ceiling at the same level, if that makes sense.. http://houzz.com/photos/3914815

We make similar style lighting but our wires are adjustable so you can hang it perfectly on a sloped ceiling and adjust the wires where (if) necessary. The above suggestions are quite interesting.. you could probably just mount the fixture to a beam or retro-fit the wires into a beam..maybe one on a smaller scale or a driftwood piece so as not to visually take up the whole room.

you dont need any of that the fixture will hang straight and you pick the length of each light as you want it to be.........honestly you don't have a dilemma with that. unless you dont like the look of the canopy being on a slop.......then pick an entirely different fixture.

I've been looking at the same PB light mentioned above for 6 months trying to find something similar for my slanted ceiling. The large 16 bulb says cords can not be adjusted and the length is 6 ft. That would put it 12 inches above my island surface. I was thinking the 8 bulb same fixture of same design maybe good but I'd have to put 2 side by side b/c my island is 7ft in length. Then those cords the longest is 29" too short. Did anyone find a solution

Did you find a solution? I just bought a VERY similar light to the pottery barn light on Overstock for less than $200. The length of each of the wires is up to you. They give you plenty of cord and you pick the lengths.

When multiple pendants are hung at an angle, they will be closer together and not hang with the right spacing between each pendant. Is there some sort of adapter to make the connections flat?
