Roller or mechanical types window shades would allow you to open them at day time while keeping them down at night for privacy.

I would stray away from shutters or blinds of any sort, nice sheer curtains would look great and not distract from the warm room tones. Or if you were thinking of doing a color I would go with a dark tone so when open it would blend with the wood molding bordering the windows. Hope this helps!

Solar screen roller shades. Sun and glare protection during the day. But also allows you to see thru to your view.

The general consensus seems to be roller shades, and I have to agree. They're designed to let light in and still provide privacy, it's a great option!
