I'm assuming you are talking about chalk & clay paints (Annie Sloan, American Paint Company, Ce Ce Caldwell) and not chalkBOARD paints

I've done a lot of things in my house. Bookcases, metal plant stands (painted to look like verdi gris), side tables, kitchen table & chairs, kitchen cupboards, desk, picture frames, lamp bases, rattan chair, paper towel holder in my kitchen. May be doing my daughter's bedroom set this year.

I am using a local Chalk Furniture Paint company here in the central coast company called Chateau Chic Chalk Furniture Paint, seems it adheres better than those other companies. iv done all my house furniture items im thinking about redoing the kitchen cabinets, theres just so many things that you can chalk paint thats why i love this product thank you for the sites.

Britt, would you please share your experience doing your kitchen cabinets as you are working on them? I'm thinking about doing the same thing :)

Happyasaclam: I did mine last spring. I had no issues, but I would recommend if you have a lot of heavy use of the cabinets (ie kids), put 2 coats of the top finish you are using. None of my items have had additional "wear" issues since I did them over 6 months ago. That includes the top of the kitchen table.

Yes you can paint anything the more detail the better, it shows especially if you shabby the piece, do a light sand where the groves are. here is an example of a piece i just finished.
