Thank you for your input! You are right, they are not close together.

Mixing things up in a space can be far more interesting than perfect matches. Successful mixing usually involves a common thread that connects everything. I think you have a good intuition for the concept based on what you've done with your space so far. I also think there's something about the mismatched lamps on the shelf that don't quite sit right with you (?)

There is something a little off-kilter about them to my eye, but quirk has it's own charm.

You have such a nice view through the window and you've highlighted it beautifully with the swag. Perhaps consider just one understated lamp and your jewelery box so as not to compete with the view.

no,it really is up to you what you mix and/or match, but i do agree with Manon, less is more for the window,.and i think i would not have the swag, but it is personal taste and it is your room ;-)..

I also agree with Manon, I think that you might want to add a lamp that is a little shorter so as not to take away from the view. And in answer to your question do they need to match, not at all. I suggest moving the mirror to one side where one of the lamps and put it a little on a slant, put the box in the centre where the mirror is now and removing one of the lamps.

Oh, I like the arrangement you suggested. I went with a taller lamp because I thought it was more in scale with the tall wall....what do you think of the new arrangement?

It looks great and doesn't block your beautiful view.

Thank you all so much for taking time to help me.
