Irrigation

What type of irrigation (drip, etc) are you using for this landscape and how often does it require watering?

Hello maestro774. Drip irrigation was specified for all of the plants in this landscape. I specify drip because it is very effective and efficient in providing water slowly to just the root zone. And it minimizes runoff, evaporation and weed growth when compared to spray irrigation. I designed this sloped landscape in No. California with low-water plants and to get them established in this climate they were deeply irrigated about 3 times per week. Watering deeply and less frequently is my recommendation to get roots established in this region. I design the landscapes and collaborate with the landscape contractors/installers regarding the plant's water needs and irrigation methods at the time of installation. And as
plants become established their water needs change too, and I recommend that the irrigation frequency be adjusted as the plants become established. And of course the frequency and length of irrigation will vary from region to region, by climate, plant needs, type of soil, etc. I hope this helps. Contact with me via email if I can help further. eileen@digyourgarden.com
