Is this completely unfinished? What are your stipulations for your basement? What do you want it to look like? Are there moisture issues? What testing are they doing or plan to do? It looks like the gas fireplace and the preparationg for the walls (which means insulation) are eating up a whole bunch of stuff.

Get the two quotes to break down the costs. Your labour is going to be close to 60% of costs. The materials will take up the other 30% - 40%. Find out what they are using as their cost template and then compare the nuts and bolts of the project. One of them might have a massive crew that will get it done in a few weeks, the others might have smaller crews and take forever.
