You have put together beautiful furniture. I think the wall above your sofa can use a large piece of artwork to bring some color and texture into the room. Check out my artwork for ideas. ced, I, too, think a large, colorful painting over the sofa is needed. In addition, perhaps you could bring in some color (from the painting you select) for pillows for the sofa. You could then select new colorful curtains, again taken from the painting.

Hi, thanks for the ideas, I like the idea of a painting, we have an original artists drawing of a tiger that I was going to put up over the sofa, but I think it will be insipid. What accent colour do you think, it is all beige and brown at the moment... I thought red but am not sure that red curtains would darken the room too much, it's not a light room as is?

Beautiful neutral tones you have working for you, but also agree with the above. A touch of colour can really add to the feel of the room. Cushions are the easiest and cheapest and can also be changed quickly to keep up with trends. If your girls love arts and craft you should frame these up and use them for artwork. My parents have a painting above their bed that my sister did when she was in Kindi, it adds a great splash of colour and love to the room. Have you thought of a canary yellow or tiffany blue for accents? - also throw rugs are great to drape of the arm of the chair
