No, my husband painted the doors using a Graco airless sprayer and brushed the frames. The paint is Sherwin Williams ProClassic, which levels out really nicely.

Wow, Emma impressive job. I love the look of painted cabinets and am considering it for my own maple cabinets, but wonder if chipping is a problem?

I have the same concern regarding refinishing (ie re painting cabinets).
Wondering if just going ahead and refacing would be a more sound investment in the long run???

As far as chipping goes, I can tell you we used the same paint for our baseboards and trim throughout the house and it has held up nicely. We definitely hope to get several years of wear out of this paint job but recognize it likely won't be as permanent as refacing. It sure was a lot cheaper though!

It has been a year now and we haven't had any trouble with chipping. They have also held up really well to wiping down any spills.
