We are remodeling our kitchen. Our designer has suggested we NOT have a raised counter between the kitchen and living room....where we sit and eat or visit with the cook/dishwasher :-). She suggests a flat counter with shorter stools/chairs. I'm thinking the raised counter hides dirty dishes etc from the living room. Your thoughts on function vs. fashion? Thanks
