Comfortable as long as the mattress is thick enough (8" minimum)

Platform beds are great with a quality mattress. We have 3 at the cottage, for each child and the master (all with wonderful storage drawers underneath). We were very happy with them, so when we redid the kids' rooms at home, we used them again. Having the drawers underneath, instead of bedskirts, dust and storage boxes is fantastic too. I wish I had an excuse to redo the master. We have used a variety of mattresses too (sleep number, Sealy, and Simmons) and all work well.
