I'm leaning towards wanting to remove the granite from the wall, however since we recently just put it in, it would kill me! Haha

I think your kitchen is fine as is, but if you want a backsplash, I would go with a small glass tile with the colors in the granite.

I don't know if you could have the backsplash portion of the granite removed or not. There might be a way it could be removed, and the stone refinished--would have to look into it.

Yes, it would be a different ball game if the granite didn't go up the wall! Since the wall area is already shortened by the granite, a tile would just emphasize it. You need to blend that area in as much as possible to keep it from looking choppy.

Having the granite part way up the wall is not a popular choice now. Aside from the additional cost per sq. ft. for the granite, it really limits your options for finishing the wall.

I'll probably just keep it as is for now, and possibly down the line convince my husband to remove the granite backsplash. Heh. -_-
