Okay, my thoughts are easy and simple. For one, I'm not a fan of the area with the patio furniture in the front, I think the white just makes this area pop out to much. I live in a neighborhood built in the 60s and quite a few have these, but with a little darker beige or griege color they don't stick out quite so much like a sore thumb (no offense). Also, I think they look better with a vertical siding. Other than that...fresh door paint, new light fixtures and a landscaping budget would make me fall in love (but then again I'm into midcentury architecture and style. I'm sure if you have the budget you can find a way to put a second story on over the garage, but depending on what you might want to use it for it might be cheaper/easier to inclose that porch area and turn it into the interior.

Ohh, and do you have a floating front porch? We have quite a few of these older homes around us where the original owner never bothered putting a path from the front porch to the street or the driveway. Our realtor told us that it's common in older homes in the south because no one uses the front door anyway, but it literally makes me crazy.
