window and door opening detail

Are the walls wood frame? If so, how did you build it? I know the exterior and interior rock have to have a 2 in gap, but can you tell or show me how the detail looks?

The interior walls where sheet rocked as normal,covered in felt paper. Then we lathed and applied a cement scratch coat of mortar to the lathe. The the same stone that was used on the exterior was cut by the quarry to 2" and applied to the lathe. This keeps the walls nice and solid/airtight and you don't lose a lot of space.
