Paint or stain?

I'd love to know what was used on the arbor. Has it held up to the NW wet and does it need to be reapplied?

Hi There,

The stain is a Cabot's Bleaching Stain. It seals, preserves and bleaches out the wood to a beach wood like silver. It prevents sooty fungus and molds common here. It goes on like a light white wash, that you can see the wood color through, and then silvers out. It can be applied over old stain easily. It also goes with just about every color scheme we use.
