Thank you for the question. We used a plaster frame, custom shape, attached to the wall and then painted. There are wooden profiles available from stock millwork fabricators such as Dykes Moulding on the East coast. Look for boluction mouldings or larger moulding such as those that would be used for fireplace surrounds for the increased scale you see in the picture. Do not be afraid of going too large on a map of this scale. Enjoy.
