I wouldn't care if the tub was gone....thinking of doing the same to my house. I don't plan on moving for quite some time, so I am not thinking about resale. I think it's 50/50.... Some would care, others not so much....you should post a poll!

One tub to bathe the small kids is all a house needs.

It only takes one buyer to make an offer for a house, so it depends on their lifestyle.

I think if it's a first floor master, it should have a tub, otherwise if there's one elsewhere on the same floor, you could get away with removing it.

I think it probably depends a lot on the market for the particular house? There are places where I would probably really want a tub in the master - even if just one with a shower over it - for taking relaxing soaks on a regular basis, like if I was in an area where I was able to be very active year round (sore muscles) or on a farm (also sore muscles, but also much more dirt. :) )

For the average suburban or urban house, I would think that at least one tub in the house would be fine, even if there wasn't one in the master bath.

We just pulled the enormous garden tub out of our master bathroom and extended the shower. I was also able to add a small closet - more storage over a water-wasting tub we never used.
