Raised ranch (split level) need help on stairs

I am going to list my home for sale this spring and I need some advise as to what I can do with my stairs. They are the old dark color brown used back in 1976 when the home was built. I now have gorgeous new oak flooring throughout the home so I want to do something to make the entry more appealing. There are 5 steps coming up from the bottom floor ( finished basement) and 6 steps as shown in the picture attached. I have Berber carpet in the family room- see picture
I would really appreciate some advise!!!! Thanks much

Use wood putty to fix any broken, dented, scratched or chipped areas...then sand the putty so it's flush.

You have choices....You can paint it white*, strip and re-stain it, or paint with a combination of black and white* even add some gold detailing.

Stripping and re-staining is a long process.

*White = is any whiteish tone from pure white to light beige.

This is what I did with mine....I hated the rails as kids would hang on them and my cats would scratch them. It was a DIY project.

I would paint the railings and back of stairs white and stain the barnister and steps to match your floors. Prep really well (read all about how best to do that). They will be the first impression when entering the home. When the time comes to sell, add a rug at your entryway to make it feel more inviting and maybe a mirror on the wall on your right.
