TV placement

Hi! We are in the midst of reno'ing our new house and are having the TV/fireplace focal point dilemma!

The living room space isn't huge, so our options are limited. It's all open concept right into the dining area (where I'm standing to take the photo) so everything flows together.

The wall on the left of the pic is 12 ft and backs onto the hallway to the bedrooms. it ends a foot or two after the pic. On the right, there are floor to ceiling windows and patio doors starting just outside the pic frame. (Pardon the old fridge.)That wall is approx 8ft and that's where the old owners had the tv. The fireplace wall is approx 12 ft as well, but note that the spaces on either side of the fireplace aren't equal.

For furniture, we have a love seat and a full size couch, though we are not married to either piece (but nor do we have the budget to replace them right now). We were thinking of the big couch up against the right wall and the love seat facing the fireplace, hopefully far enough back that we wouldn't crank our neck if the tv was high.

My inclination is to put the tv over the fireplace to keep the focal points aligned... But I'm afraid it'll be too high!

Any ideas would be lovely :-)

Thanks for your help!
