I thought this was funny - it' a private, screened-in dog run on their lanai!

j petempich can you tell me the dimensions of yours? I have a space identical and I am trying to work out if I can fit a loo in there. does the space work for you?

42.5 inches wide, door is 27.5 inches, the height of the ceiling at the toilet is around 6 ft slanted and the dimension between the toilet and the front wall is 15.5 inches. I think if a permit is pulled the dimension between the front of the toilet and the wall being only 15 1/2 may be a problem. I personally don't have a problem with it and I don't consider myself a small person. We have a standard toilet with a round bowl. I don't know if you can get a different type of toilet to fit a little tighter or not.

For a bathroom under the stairs, if you have access from the long side, you put your toilet at one end and the sink at the other with a pocket or out-swinging french door in the middle.

That is true, I didn't have access to the long side because I have a sunken living room. Like I say, mine is kind of weird.

I think it is a great use of space. I have moved into an old 1930s house and the wet areas are diff to renovate due to double brick (but I really need another toilet downstairs.
