your eye has no where to go because there are no pops of color. frame that art. add some color to the mantel. get a large white framed mirror for the left side. add some plants to make it blend. get some color pops going, its all white, green and beige. put the fish tank on there maybe? what is on the other wall? add another small frame on right wall to balance the length. is this where the tv is or a sitting room?

The fish tank is not staying there, it's just there now because we just put in the built in's and I'm not totally sure where the little guys are going yet! The couches are going to, I'm going to buy all new furniture once I find something I love. The art above the mantel is an original steel blow torch piece from a local artist and I'm very fond of it. The pop colors I'm planning on adding are rust orange and yellow. The wall to the right is an entryway to the laundry room, guest bath and a full wet bar, to the left is a large window and sliding glass door to the patio. My husband said he has to frame at least the top of box seat because it's not completely flush to the wall but that would look funny so he is thinking to just frame like there was a window, paint white inside and add shelves? Though I'm not completely sold on that idea. Would it look good if it's framed and add artwork in it?

Maybe multiple frames instead of one? You might not want it identical because it will look like you stuck it there not knowing what else to do. Do you like the finish of the fireplace? You could face that out with white wood and give yourself the depth on the left for shallow shelves.

I do think you need some white wood up on the wall to balance out that big window. Is the window well deep?

Oh. What about a whit wood mantle?

Take advice from your first responder. Two pictures on left, mirror over fireplace and remove pictures on left and right walls. Add pillows and seat cushions

What about a wood weave window covering to pick up the colors in the fireplace and make it less like a big white block. Hunter Douglass makes some that are bottom up and top down so you could cover just the bottom or top if the window.

I think your husband did a great job. I think a bit more of a job and you have perfection. The art over the fireplace would look great on the wall across from the sofa.

Fish tank really needs to find a new place to be.

Thank you all for your input! I've cleared the room so you have a better view. Plus, my little fishes are in their rightful spot! I bought four of these frames for the bare wall, what do y'all think? Still not sure what to put in them, I have three very artistic children so I'm sure I'll have a few offers ;)
I haven't found pillows yet, but I'm still on the look!!
