I am planning ahead for our next home construction and believe I want to locate the sink in the island, which will then face the open floor plan family room. It seems I'm always working at the sink so this way I can be part of the action. I'd put the dishwasher in the island as well, logically. But.......rarely is my kitchen spotless with no dishes left to be washed! And for hand washing pots and pans, I let them air dry. So I'm wondering what your ""real life" experience is with an island sink. Too much clutter on my island/counters bothers me as it is!
