Hello Houzzers!

I am looking to class up our master bedroom with some DIY wainscoting and am trying to decide what style will work best in it. We are updating the adjoining master bathroom in more of a contemporary style (chrome, espresso cabinet, white countertop) so the rooms will need to flow together. While the room is casual and slightly coastal, I feel that beadboard and tall board and batten styles are too farmhouse/country for the space and am leaning towards the traditional picture frame style, horizontal planking, or board and batten at standard level. I can handle simple cuts, but nothing too fancy, nothing that would be too expensive, and the baseboards are staying on. And the walls are highly textured so I can't do the "faux" treatment by just adding trim and painting the wall white, panels of some sort will be applied to make it smooth. Any advice?
