I assume this is the present layout, are there windows on the left wall? Where is the plumbing, how much seating do you need for eating area what style do you like.Are you getting all new appliances if so what do you want in the type of fridge how many burners on stove etc etc. The more info the more help you will get.I love designing kitchens .

Yes this is the present layout. No there is no windows on the left. The plumbing is at the centre of the window at the top. Seating for three people would be great, but two will do.

Regarding styles, we are open to suggestions. We are using our old appliances, consisting of a 600 (w) x 1850 (h) x 600 (d) fridge and a 600 wide dishwasher. We also need space for a microwave. The hob will be new and most likely have four burners and the stove will be a built in unit, so if needs be they don't need to be placed together.

Okay I just want to make sure I have the right translation for hob and stove so Hob is a counter top cooking surface and stove is what we call oven here. Do I have that right. Are you okay with using Ikea cabinets and also for the sake of measurement Ikea hob and stove,?

yes that is 100% correct!

You will find that although there are some standard box cabinets there is some for variation among cabinet brands in sizing and cabinets offered. So you could end up with something quite different but workable from different vendors.

Okay I lost your post and thank heaven I found it again so now I will go to work.

Here is a doodle that's not to scale but might be helpful. You might consider putting the sink in the corner. I think the plumber could make that work. You could use shelves over the sink area or just leave it open running backsplash tile up to the ceiling there and a drop pendant. The peninsula with a rounded edge is for seating. You will get more space around the circumference that you would with a square one. You will probably need stools that tuck under the countertop. If you have a view with that wonderful window all the better for seating that faces it.
