Our house has closets that are small- and shallow (17" from back wall to inside of door frame) We plan to take the closet for the adjoining room since it is adjacent to our current closet and combine those for at least a much longer space. For the room that is losing its closet, the current idea is to build a closet on either side of the window that is placed in the center of the wall opposite the shared wall. Then we can build a window seat (with additional storage drawer) under the window so it looks built in as a unit with the closets on either side. The issue is that because the one side has a bump out that starts at about 15" from wall, it is going to be impossible to go any deeper due to that angled wall(imagine a wall that looks like a big bay window) . I want to hang up clothing as well as have shelves and drawers and shoe racks- is it even possible given the very shallow depth of 15"?
