how tall are your ceilings?

does that say 575 light out put? and what is the color temp rating. how many do you have to install ....

Ceilings are 8 feet kitchen is 16ft x 13 ft and I was planning to put in 8 lights. Yes lumens is 575.

Color is warm incandescent

I don't know this bulb, but I recently did most of my house ... and all of the pot lights ... with Cree bulbs because of their excellent CRI and reputation. I have well over a $1000 in leds and researched so I'd get something that would give me a chance to go to the lamp's full life.

not 8 run way ceiling 5 or 7 dont just run them a long the edge. and yes they should work good for you!

575 is still such low lumens! one 42 watt eco halogen...760 lumens...just sayin

those will be great in your kitchen. Cree is the best in LED...in fact a lot of other manufacturers buy Cree LED diodes for their LED products. I was a lighting consultant for 5 years and dealt with a lot of different LED's...and I LOVE the Cree lamps. Cant beat the quality for the price point. They dim well, and light output is great with a pleasant color rendering. The Cree 4" LED recessed module was what I used in my current office and I love them!

We used these throughout our entire house when we did our remodel and love them! They provide a soft, clean light.

Just did all the research on LEDs and especially the LED retrofit for 6" cans. Cree is the only game in town as far as quality of the light you actually get. Their lumens and the warmth of the light is the closest you will get to incandescents. And it doesn't hurt they are made in the USA. Just finished up a retrofit with Crees in my seven 6-inch pot lights in the kitchen this weekend. Painless and a wonderful upgrade. Cree will be my brand of choice for other LED purchases in the future. 1000bulbs.com is a good website and FAST on delivery.

are you keeping that pendant?

Yes we do have an island and the lights above it will be coming down as well as the lights above the sink and we are thinking led pucks for above the sink. We just are not sure that 6 led lights will be enough lighting for us however the lights are so big we don't want to have too many and not looking right in that aspect as well. What about halogen lights? Are they better suited for a smaller kitchen?

no i would go LED you have low ceilings so they will be effective, i see 7 with 2 pendants, using two switches. make sure they are dimmable and get a good dimmer that marries to both types of lighting, LED and what ever type of pendant you get. one puck light should do the tick for that sink area. have a switch for it to by the sink if you can.

The only thing I disagree with are the pendant lights as they block our view of our new range hood we just installed. Other then that everything would be great. What do you think
