That would work, you just have to neutralize the tangerine wall by keeping the brick wall white and your furniture really simple and clean. Awesome! One last suggestion. If you're going go with such a striking colour scheme, it's worth thinking about creating a layered lighting plan to control the colour depth. For example, standing lamps to subdue the colours and track lighting to accentuate.

Well you have such a cool fireplace. If you don't have hardwoods, I'd prob get a more mod carpet. Is that wallpaper on the wall in the other room? Or paneling? Hmm, I've seen some cool colored shag carpet in the colors you're thinking... but I think I'd keep the walls light then and accent w orange in different ways (like I have an orange couch). Just so it's not too much.
