Looks like you could use some new gravel in the driveway too. That will help freshen things up :)

I agree with moving the tree. It's blocking your lovely bay window. A nice front porch would definitely spruce things up a lot! Could you take a closer picture of your brick?

It is a brownish grey. All of the facia and soffit are dark brown.

The trim color next to the stained wood on the side-light would look good on the door, the siding and the garage door.

I wouldn't add shutters. Once you spruce up the landscaping and add an edging to separate the driveway from the lawn, the house will look much better. I really like your idea for a front porch. That renovation will be fantastic.

I would really like to steer clear of dark brown. I grew up in a home where everything was dark brown!

Some ideas on colours I have are attached just not sure what will go with the pink accent colour in the brick. What do you think?

It's pretty! But, I think with the house it's on, they have many other architectural details. I think using a black would probably work best. (I am not a pro though haha)
Did you want to go for more of a craftsman style home? Is that what you hope to accomplish?

My concern with the cedar is, when using my imagination, it wouldn't give your home any pizazz. I fear it wouldn't do much.
