I think I would paint that wall a charcoal gray. I would clear away the huge vase, and all the photo's;)

The color, at least i the picture, looks very light. I think the furnishings call for a darker, richer color. I've learned that some colors which look too dark on the strip are actually much lighter on the wall.

Can you take a closeup of the rug? I'm thinking you might want to pull a color out of it for the walls.

is there a tone of yellow in your rug you could use?
and then a couple of pillows in the same, or similar tones, would be fun!
