We would suggest mounting your TV above the fire place - this gives you a focal point to base your floor plan off of. Your sofa can be on the wall opposite that with some chairs to create a seating area. Stop its from floating in the space with a great area rug and coffee table. The brick of the fireplace can be painted to allow it to either stand out and make a statement, or blend in with the walls.

i might put the TV across from the fireplace, seems a little high in this case, to put it above. also if you put it on the wall you can swivl it out to watch from bar area. i would put two chairs floating in front of bar area, a couch across with a sofa table behind and a large ottoman or maybe a round coffee table.

I agree with Now, completely. TV above the fireplace, I wouldn't do a curved sofa and chairs, depending on how large and 'curved' the sofa is. Looks like the room is on the small side and a sofa that large would not be proportionate to the space. Too bulky takes away from the space and makes it look even smaller. Good Luck!

HI -- The number one focal point in a room today is the TV and second is the fireplace . If you are putting the sofa across from the fireplace , I would put the TV on the wall to the left of the fireplace and not above the fireplace . If you mount the TV on an articulating bracket ,then the TV can be turned for viewing . Then have a cabinet under the TV for storage . Then you can have a painting or a mirror above the fireplace mantel . The floors are beautiful . I am not so sure you have room for bar stools , it will make the dining area crowded , or do you have another formal dining room else where .

Granite bar top and counters are being put in tomorrow. I will take a picture then.

We have a separate dining room. In the kitchen to the left will be our kitchen table.
