Not an expert but I think mint should be planted outside, usually in full sun. They generally like average soils, nothing too nutrient dense and not over-watered. I have mint all over my yard, all from my neighbors' plants, and do nothing with it - it does too good on its own!

It needs vastly more light and Nicole is right, it needs to be outside. It may well also have spider mites looking at the stippling on the foliage. Mint makes a difficult indoor subject. It doesn't get enough light, is often too warm and gets no wind or rain to deter pests. And please don't put it in the glass pot unless it has drainage holes.

and if you decide to move it outdoors... it needs to go in full bright shade.. to harden off.. before you move it to sun ...

im not sure its a mint at all ... looks like a weedy lamium .... but im not an ID expert ... i wonder if the original plant died????

you might be better off.. getting a new houseplant.. rather than messing with this one ... but if its all about the challenge.. well then.. good luck ...

and.. potted plants need drainage .. and if the glass has none ... then its not acceptable.. EXCEPT ... as you are using it.. a pot in pot system.. and this is great.. because you can see accumulating water ... and dump it out ...

Ken, it is mint. Just a sick etiolated specimen. It's absolutely desperate for light hence the bedraggled stems. I assume the sticks are an attempt to prop it up. But what it needs is light and outdoor weather.
