This living room feels spacious, yet cozy because part of it is tucked under a lower ceiling. The room behind the fireplace doubles as a sitting room and a guest bedroom when sliding doors cover the openings above the fireplace.

The kitchen is connected, but not wide open to the breakfast nook, a 4-season porch, and the dining room to the left.

The great room, dining room, and kitchen are one room, BUT they are segmented by changes in ceiling height, partial walls, etc. These empty nesters feel very comfortable in these “right sized” spaces for their daily lifestyle. When family and friends gather they are equally comfortable and everyone can socialize.
