MJR: Really stylish. Cost of stone bench with custom pads vs. buying furniture? EC: Built in benches are gorgeous but they are more expensive than furniture cost. Another negative is inability to move your seat forward or back depending upon wind direction. They are usually the last seat taken as comfy chairs go first.

MJR: I like the bench/ottoman idea, (though probably not super comfortable); but I don't like firepits that look like living rooms. I'd like this better with two sofas and the ottoman and none of that extraneous furniture. : ) Guests will want/need a place to put drinks/snacks! The fire pit style Susan prefers doesn't have a lip and fire pit lips aren't ideal for drinks anyway as they roast the drinks.
