"The concept ‘accessibility’ focuses on enabling access for people with disabilities, or special needs inclusive to achieve goals of effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction. Creating universal design would make things accessible to all whether they have disability or not.
My design style is Industrial. For this case there are 2 children and an elderly which will be a gloomy theme for both audience. Adding a touch of contemporary will light up the house which then helps to balance the theme. There are elements of industrial lighting and colours.
What has inspired me to become a designer is by looking at my own house. At the age of 15, moving into a new house with very poor design selection, makes me dream about designing my own house. I believe that every house will reflect who you are, your style and personality.
My favourite interior designer that I come across randomly on YouTube was Karin Bohn from Vancouver. I’ve been obsessed about her ever since. I started watching her when she only had 1,000 subscribers and currently she’s close to 100,000 subscribers. What’s so inspiring about her is she only started in the industry for about 6 months before she started off on her own for 7 years ever since I love her style, her confidence dealing with clients, a speaker an how she manages her day to day basis. I always looked forward to her new upload and she even documented designing her own house that cost over USD200,000. Even though she is the boss, she worked collaboratively with her colleagues and she communicates a lot within everyone in the office to ensure everyone is on the right track. I’ve always looked up to her ever since I discovered her. She is my inspiration and idol to start on my own in the future. "
