Natural Lighting: A nice pure white light coming through the room. Brings the natural light through the windows and uses no energy. The color temperature correlates with the season and time of day.

Task Lighting: Lighting that is meant to serve a particular task. This space is used to light the office area to do any work.

Accent Lighting: Is used to grasp attention by having things popping. Truly lighting the art. In this space the light is drawing to the art on the shelves.

Ambient: The light sources are hidden with no shadows happening. No blaring of lights. The lights are hidden in the ceiling along with some natural lights in this space.

Grazing: The light is super close to the wall with the intention to light the space. Shows any texture that is happening on that wall. Emphasizes the texture that's happening on the wall that it's grazing.

Perimeter Lighting: Lights the perimeter of the space that gives a sort of general lighting. Looks very evenly placed.

Up Lighting: The lights are happening on the ground and comes up rather than the lights happening on the ceiling and coming down.

Cove Lighting: Is a form of indirect lighting that is built into ledges, recesses, or valances in a ceiling. The light is lighting up the ceiling.

Recessed Lighting: The lighting is on the other side of the ceiling. There are four types of recessed lighting being baffle, open, reflector, and eyeball.

Drop Lighting: Fixtures that drop from the ceiling and come down into the space. Drop lightings have to give a certain height of being at least six to seven feet above.

Wall Washing: The lights are further away from the wall and casting light onto the wall. Washes the wall with color.

Sconce: A fixture that is applied to the wall. The light is typically directed upwards and outwards.

2x2 Fixture: These are often seen in offices or schools that are placed on the ceiling in a square that is 2x2 or a rectangle that is 2x4. Since the light directs down onto the surface studies have shown this causes strain due to reflection.

Incandescent Bulb: Is considered a traditional bulb. Inefficient bulbs because it uses too much energy. Due to using too much energy and heat, these bulbs are used for decorations to give a pretty look.

Fluorescent Bulb: It is known for energy efficiency compared to incandescent lighting. Not only is it cheaper for a client but it also gives a "cool" look. Type of light that flows through the glass strands and focuses on the other end of the tube that emits no heat and no ultraviolet rays.
