Hard wood floors seem to make rooms more formal to me, more elegant and modern. In rooms with hard wood floors, sound bounces around and loses it's quality.

The carpeted floor in this picture seems to make the room more informal and cozy. Carpet gives a room better acoustics and sound doesn't travel so much that it gets slurred.

I think the curtains in this picture are the focal point of the room because they're the most colorful part. The red is loud and exciting and really POPS against the neutral colors in the rest of the room.

The ceiling in this room is super interesting, and I'm so sorry I have no idea what it's called! I think it makes the room look very formal because it dips up and seems to make the room bigger. Also the furniture makes it look formal so that was a hint for me.

The red paint on the walls makes the room feel very exciting. It's warm and loud and I remember reading somewhere that it raises energy levels and encourages togetherness.

The blue paint gives the room a calm mood because it's very soft, relaxing, and slow.
