Exposed joists/ rafter ties allows for most of rafter depth to be devoted to insulation but still shows expressed structure
I like the angles of the joists/ cross members relative to the rafters, and the gussets
Having the structure that ties the rafters together be the exposed part, but allowing the depth of the rafters themselves to be devoted to insulation
We might consider trusses in this style (
The contrast from the smooth, white drywall walls to the wood of the ceiling
The metal tie rods in place of a joist going all the way across the span
