Fireplace surround: rather than the horizontal natural wood, use vertical natural wood similar to that used on the front porch, but keep the contrasting dark charcoal siding on the fireplace front and back edges and sides, which will match the dark charcoal horizontal hardiplank in the exterior chimney…haven’t decided yet whether the charcoal part should remain horizontal (on both the interior and exterior)…thinking it should run vertically
