Like: nice stone choice. also, the idea of integrating the fireplace mantle into the rest of the wall. Hate the wall color and the 1970's vibe. And I don't actually like these shelves. It is just an idea of integrating the design.

I like the horizontal wood detail that extends from the fireplace to the wall next to it. This would, however, make it difficult to hang any artwork over the fireplace, or in the space next to it. I also like the clean look of the gray stone tile of the fireplace and the blue accent chairs.
