Floor and walls the same color with Persian rug in red, cream and blue. Seems overpowering to me, but this is a library in a house of which the rest of the house has basics hate walls. How do I overcome this in an open concept living, dining, kitchen where kitchen cabinets and floor overpower the room?

Lavender in nature. In the wild, lavender evokes serenity, peace, calm, spirituality and magic. It can be as cheerful as foxgloves in an English garden, as unexpected as the giant flower on an artichoke left to bloom or as simple as a basket of onions in a market stall. Bathroom...perhaps lavendar, green, and dark purple.
Cobalt blue and red as accents for brown...also goes well for blue and white dishes, and for Boleslawicz dishes. Read the side bar relating to Persian carpet and how the color scheme within it inspire this room. While too much blue is here, likely I want to have these colors accent the brown countertop and the darker furniture we own.
