Or this. We'd have to be sure to not put anything large (like these lamps) on the table of we used for extra table space. It also might be important to make sure it's roughly the same height as the table.

I keep seeing behind-the-couch tables like this. I wonder if we did something similar, it could extended our dining options (for the rare occasions we had multiple people over) without having to buy a larger dining room table-which we don't have space for. ?
