CONCEPT - BROTHERS + SISTERS
The premise of the playhouse began with a workshop for a treehouse at our new home.
“I want a look out”
“I want a place to read”
“I want a place to be private”
“I want a place to sleep out”
“I want to be a pirate”
“I want to climb”
“I want a slide”
These were some difficult clients!
All these needs for a small space. When looking at the playhouse competition requirements it became clear that a single house wouldn’t cut it. It wouldn’t satisfy the brief - and there would be tears!
So a typical parental compromise - TWO PLAYHOUSES!
But not just two separate structures, but complimentary and interplaying structure, that join together to make something a bit more than the sum of their parts. Just like a family.
Each pod has its own character, its own driving geometry, but the frames are identical and interlock in a variety of ways. They can be stacked, staged, hung or separated and divided (just in case)
So let the adventures begin.
Distinct and dynamics structures that have a variety of different levels and openings, which are ideal for unstructured play and fun.
The colours have been picked by the kids. The play will be determined by them too.
