The playhouse is conceived as a octahedron tensegrity structure where three ladders are held together in a structural equilibrium by steel cables. Some of the resulting geometries are closed with triangular fabric sails that are translucent and kept in the primary colors. Three temporary fabric sails allow the structure to be closed for play.
The structure is both very reduced in its structural and color choice, yet at the same time offers a large variety of spatial interactions, explorations and visual complexity. The predominate ladders function as a familiar everyday object seemingly magically suspended in mid-air, and invite not only adventurous play but also to stimulate the imagination in preconceived notions of object use and assembly.
