“Sparky” ignites kids’ imaginations and curiosity. For children, Sparky is many dreams, brought to life: A low, circular opening becomes a bear’s den, a tunnel leading under the street, or a troll’s lair. Seats allow children to conjure a magic school or an airplane into existence. The triangular window could be envisioned as a puppet theater, astronaut’s window or the door to the witch’s house. Several moveable, interactive features like hand-cranked overhead openings, roll-down covers, rotating windows, periscopes and cones allow kids to further their play and discovery by creating simple differences in the environment – the surf shop was closed, but now it’s open.
A uniquely designed environment which is intended to encourage as much open-ended play as possible, Sparky can support the range of scenarios children dream up, allowing their imagination to run wild. Folded into a tight cube for transport, the walls of this cube unfold into a large play environment composed of simple, constructivist forms and bright colors which can be envisioned in many different ways.
Children use their imagination not only to create fantasy worlds for play, but also to understand the real world they are discovering day by day. Sparky makes both possible.
