I immediately identified with this challenge to design a children's playhouse. My mind immediately gravitated towards water. I loved swimming on lakes as a kid and hanging out on floating rafts. Not to mention, what kid doesn't want their own private island to hang out on with their friends? I wanted to incorporate some cool features. I've always thought airlocks were cool so the idea in this design is that you swim up into an opening in the bottom of the floor, then open the sliding door from the inside to let your friends in. Inside there is also a plexiglas bubble which allows you to observe any marine life swimming below. Maybe it's a pipe dream but I hope the design inspires kids to get out there and do some adventuring! All designs were done with Sketchup and Layout. Rendering was done with Maxwell plugin for Sketchup. Enjoy!
