The Rock ‘n’ Roll playhouse by GRO Architects inspires adventure by allowing children to move freely in their imagination, seamlessly shifting scales as this playhouse is only perceived as a “house” for an instant in one of many possible orientations. Rolled to rest on any one of its facets, the form of the house is more like a rock and in the eye of a child it can be anything: a distant planet, a cave, an elephant, a vast landscape where dinosaurs roam. The form encourages adventure play through the endless possibilities of how it can be explored and interpreted.
The faceted form of the Rock ‘n’ Roll playhouse can be rolled to rest on a level surface (by an adult). The design is light-weight and easy to move, but stable enough that it is safely used by small children. Constructed from CNC wire-cut foam panels that are upholstered in a durable metallic vinyl fabric of various textures and patterns, it can be rolled into a new position, allowing endless possibilities for adventure!
