“The Voyage”
What comes to mind when you think of an adventure? For me, it’s the idea of exploring the world or being involve in an activity that is outside of our comfort zone. An activity that keeps our blood pumping, our adrenaline rushing and turning our wildest imagination into a reality. With this sail ship design, I would like to take the children on a voyage, turning their imagination and action into an adventure.
Here, I’ve created a sail ship that entails adventures that involves a treasure hunt, rope climbing, an interactive ship’s wheel as well as interactive cannons.
My hope is for the children to experience the ship as though they are on an adventure at sea.The top deck encircled by the rope fence provides an open space when sailing in the vast sea. The children may interact with the ship’s wheel as though they are the captain of the ship.
On the lower deck, they may enter through the wall climbing, an imitation of sailors using the ropes on the ship. They may peer into the vast sea through the glass window and protect their ship using the interactive cannons. Moreover, what’s an adventure on a ship without treasure hunting? I’ve created a sand box for the children to hide their pretend treasures and prevent their enemies from stealing their property.
