Periscope of Space
For children, imagination is their strongest gift, if they are given the space, they can become anything they want, be anywhere they want and do whatever they want.
So, to say, reach for the skies, this playhouse is a combination of space and the principles of a periscope to truly express the idea of adventure.
I remember as a child, I would always pretend to be on a higher platform of some kind and imagine myself flying somewhere, I wanted to carry this idea into the design and create a playhouse that plays with views for the children playing in the playhouse as well as for the children playing outside and looking into the playhouse. The different levels of space in the playhouse will allow the children to express their ideas and create their own imaginative spaces within the playhouse. Small crevices also provide a different type of space compared to that of an open space in the playhouse.
It is all up to the children on how they interpret the playhouse, the vertical and horizontal form is presented to them to allow full creativity and imagination. If built, I wish children have fun playing in it, as much as I enjoyed imagining myself playing in it, rather than designing it.
