Tomatoes are one of the most rewarding edible plants to grow yourself, as their flavour is so much better than what you typically find at the grocery store. Plus, there are all the fun varieties to choose from. Don’t worry if your outdoor space is limited. All you need to grow your own tomato plant is a good-size container and a sunny spot outdoors or on a balcony. Plant tomatoes in warm weather (once night-time temperatures are over 4.4 degrees Celsius, in your region), or ideally in spring, and you’ll soon be enjoying the fruits of your labour. Here’s what you need to know about growing tomatoes in pots.

The owners are fond of the ’50s bedside table they found at a junk shop, which is made of gilded Murano glass (visible in the first bedroom photo). Their favourite pieces, however, are the wall lamps on either side of the bed. The owner got them from his brother Frédéric, a lighting designer, who made them in his workshop, Llume Studio, in Nantes, in western France.

The clever owners of this home created this wraparound bedroom storage by utilising the two existing wardrobes either side of the bed and filling the space in-between with a row of Besta cabinets. By adding a slim picture ledge underneath and two wall-mounted lights, they created the perfect storage solution for a small bedroom.

The client has fond memories of a hotel they stayed at in Soho, London, which influenced the design of the second guest room. “This bedroom is the one room where we could take the client on a journey through our vintage-inspired imagination,” says Woods. “We wanted this space to feel like an experience, and introduced the deep wine colour as a contrast to the blue, grey and bronze throughout the home.” The custom leather bedhead is hung off the slatted shelf wall, providing display space for contemporary and vintage art.
