Princeton Design Collaborative

We selected and hired Princeton Design Collaborative (PDC) to assist us in a Master En-suite renovation/remodeling of Bath, Walk-in Closet and Laundry. As the design progressed, we quickly saw the value of what PDC was bringing to the table with just not their design ability but technical knowledge as well, so we added to the scope a second bath, insulation, and attic air sealing. PDC listened carefully to our concerns with old space in its extreme inefficiency, dated look, and lack of natural light. We appreciate the collaboration in PDC's development of proposed solutions. Their simple 3D animations of a series of schemes and material samples brought to our home made the process clear and effortless. PDC took our old floor plan which was 60% wasted space and gave us a plan that packed 110% program and still gave us a feeling of spaciousness. PDC was also mindful of our budget and assisted in helping with saving costs with their trusted venders. When the selected tile was discontinued, PDC negotiated with the vender to provide the newly selected more expensive tile at the same price as the original selection. We enjoyed working with all the contractors, selected with PDC's assistance. A great plan requires teamwork for a great implementation! We also enjoyed working with their custom millworker who crafted PDC’s vision flawlessly. As a result, we decided to ask them to design and build the Walk-in Closet to match the bath’s walnut cabinetry. The Master Bath turned out so beautifully as a place of relaxation that the entire family uses it now. We feel like we have a 5-star spa resort hotel bath right in our own home! We are a family of five and had grown out of space in our home. We like the location as it backs up onto preserved land and the school system is one of the best in the state. So, we decided to renovate instead of moving. We gravitated to Princeton Design Collaborative (PDC), as we liked the design of their previous work, to assist us with the renovation. We found along the way that their technical knowledge is excellent. PDC was responsive to our requests and did a series of 3D preliminary designs with some very basic budget estimates for our review. With their guidance, we were able to meet our family’s needs without having to expand the envelope of our home. This helped manage cost while making the project ecofriendly. PDC was responsible for the architecture, interior design for finishes, and landscape architecture, which made our life easier. PDC also worked closely with our selected contractor to ensure their documents were being followed. It was clear, during execution, that the documents developed by PDC were extremely detailed, significantly helping our contractor throughout the entire process. We did not have any surprises that affected the initial construction budget. PDC and our contractor regularly met on site and they both communicated well together, ensuring smooth execution. For all these reasons, and the quality of the end product, we are very happy with the renovation. We highly recommend Princeton Design Collaborative (PDC) for any of your design needs.

After explaining what we all needed, PDC prepared a clear and thoughtful plan which was outlined in their proposal to us. This past season we completed one of the largest residential landscape projects we have done to date which was designed by Princeton Design Collaborative (PDC). PDC created a timeless “outside the box” design solution to solve a code requirement in an imaginative way that accentuated the properties attributes. This project involved a lengthy approval process by multiple government authorities, which PDC handled with their design team and assisted us with the last leg for building permits with the town. PDC brought several sustainable measures to the project in the form of plant material, site building products, efficient lighting and a multi tank rain collection system that we collaborated on in the planning stage, then executed. All these design measures by PDC will make for a lasting and unique outdoor retreat sure to bring the client years of enjoyment while having little to no impact on the environment which it resides in.
